The Cairngorm Runners began in 2007, in response to a demand from local people who were looking to train for the Aviemore Highland Half Marathon. Since then, the club has been going from strength to strength. We are a friendly club that welcomes runners of all abilities - from absolute beginners to elite runners.

Runs to suit all levels! Club runs are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm. See the Where to meet page for location maps and more information.

Read this Exciting News - We are the Champions of Scotland!

At the scottishathletics awards held in the Marriott Hotel Glasgow on Saturday 29th October 2011 it was announced that Cairngorm Runners jogscotland had won the award for Community Group of the Year for 2011.  This is the third year in a row the Club had been nominated, in 2009 and 2010 the Club were Runners Up to the award but this year we went one better and took the coveted title.

Winning this year is testament to all the fantastic members, incredible jog leaders and a very strong committee as well as the collective amazing efforts from you all this year.  The Club were nominated as finalists along with 3 other brilliant jogscotland clubs from the 400 or so clubs across Scotland.

Five Club members attended the awards (Alan Riach, Robin McConnell, Jacqui Dick and Steve and Melissa Wall) which was hosted by the GB track legend Roger Black MBE (Individual 400m Silver medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and World 4 x 400m Gold medalist at Tokyo in 1991) as well as GB High Jumper Dalton Grant, 1983 London Marathon winner (2:09.43) and Scotland 400m legend Brian Whittle, the Scottish Commonwealth Games team as well as hundreds of athletes, coaches and volunteers from across Scotland.

Steve was presented the award by Duncan Riddoch the Director and Co-Founder of Run 4 It which was a fitting tribute given that Duncan has been such a great supporter of our Club and has supplied the Club with prizes for the past 3 years at the annual Club awards. To finish the night off in style Duncan bought the 5 members a lovely bottle of Champagne and the girls won a spot prize comprising of 5 bottles of wine!
