Brad Carroll discovered running 9 years ago. He went from smoking 20 cigarettes per day to exercising one hour per day.

Brad is more proud of having completed the training required to finish 3 iron man distance races than finishing the events themselves: it’s not about the race. As a qualified Mental Health Nurse, he is most interested in finding social solutions, like running groups (!), to promoting good mental health.

Julia Lister is doing some voluntary writing, both for the website and the local press, focusing on different aspects of the Cairngorms Runners.

Julia moved to the Cairngorms in October 2005 and never wants leave. She recently discovered mountain biking, but is still very much emotionally attached to her ancient road bike. Having spent several years helping out at various half-marathons, she finally succumbed to temptation and entered the first ever Aviemore Half-Marathon in 2006. She never made it to the start line, though, due to an injury a few months into her training programme. Julia is 'starting from scratch' again with Cairngorm Runners, just to see what happens.
